Another Deutsche Classic!

Q1 - DL 20 x RT 41
Even losing the game, I think it's worthy making comments about this classic. We had a horrible start, I guess it was a mistake to set the tactics 50 min before the game, but Alfred and I couldn't do it on the last minute... Gordo Cabron avoided our defense, choosing to face Francesc Pont, as PG, he managed to score 26 points (perfect shooting), besides suffering 4 fouls in 12 min. Our best player was Cloud Nine with 8 points and 1 steal, I should have trusted more balls on him, but I thought they would use their defensive PF against him... DJ had a hard time against Oded Katash, missing 3 shots and sufferinf 3 fouls. Jansen didn't have a good start... he felt the pressure of their defense and couldn't scape Frantachello Rubio. Marinos had a regular quarter with 6 points while Francesc helped the team with 3 steals, but couldn't hold Gordo... I believe losing this quarter resulted on our loss.

Q2 - DL 39 x RT 38
A much better quarter on offense, but our defense kept making mistakes... We couldn't hold Jonne Martikainen who scored 15 points from the 3pt line. Porco didn't let us down with 16 points and 4 assists, great quarter! Alfred didn't avoid Jonne's 3 pts shots, but he managed to score 12 points and stole 4 balls, substituting well Pont. Cloud Nine scored 6 points and assisted 6 times, but had a hard time holding Manu, making 3 fouls. DJ was my biggest disappointment, missing 8 shots, one of his worst performances.

Q3 - DL 40 x RT 32
After a word from the manager, the team was back on the game, diminishing the difference of points... Porco led the team with 22 points (perfect shooting) and 5 assists. Jansen also returned much better with 10 points and 5 assists. Marinos also didn't let us down and scored 8 points, blocking and stealing, keeping a strong defense, holding Gordo with only 4 points, awesome job. Matheus had some trouble facing Manu, making 4 fouls, but helped the tea, with 5 assists.

Q4 - DL 30 x RT 44
Another horrible quarter to our defense. We allowed Gordo and Owusu to score 32 points together... Our best player on offense was Jansen with 14 points. Closelly followed by Porco with 10 points, besides one block and steal. Marinos suffered a strong defense from Frantachello Rubio and missed too many shots. Cloud fouled out and gave space to Erich that helped on defense, but didn't avoid Kuincy Owusu from scoring.

MOM:Gordo Cabron (48 points and 10 assists – double-double)!

Special Recognition:Porco Aranha – 48 points and 10 assists - double-double - he played better than Gordo and should have gotten the MOM!
Jansen Wiese - 26 points, 11 assists - double-double!
Cloud Nine – 16 points, 2 steals and 8 assists!

A Deutsche Classic!

I´m posting these after matches in honor of 2 awesome Classics we had on first round, unfortunatelly we only won one of them.

Q1 - DL 35 x TSB 32
Congratulations, guys, we've won another Classic on Deutsche Liga!!! And this victory is even sweeter as Victor is a great manager, with an awesome history on this league. Cloud Nine was a monster, breaking through their defense, scoring amazing 23 points, stealing and blocking twice!!! Our big guys were amazing, Dee jay scored 8 points and assisted 4 times. Marinos had some difficulty on offense, scoring only 4 points, but he kept a strong defense with 2 blocks and 1 steal. Alfred and Matheus focused their game on defense, allowing their team mates to score without worrying so much with defense.

Q2 - DL 30 x TSB 45
This was our wrost quarter, our offense didn't work welll and our defense was even worst. Dj led the team with 10 points. Followed by Marinos with 8 points and 1 block. Matheus had a hard time scoring, missing quite a few shots, but still managed to get 6 points. Erich scored 4 points and blocked twice. While Pont had a hard time on defense, letting their player socre really high.

Q3 - DL 38 x TSB 36
Unfortunatelly, they managed to foul out two of our main stars, Marinos and Cloud, but our backup was awesome!!! Alfred suffered 5 fouls, fouling out Rafael Emesha (one of their best scorers). Alfred scored 22 points and stole 2 balls, one of Alfred's best games ever!!! Porco Aranha showed us that he is ready to assume the MVP position he deserves, scoring 8 points (perfect shooting). Erich scored 4 more points, stole twice and blocked once. DJ didn't play so well on offense this quarter, but focused on defense, holding their scorers, besides assisting his team mates 4 times.
Q4 - DL 38 x TSB 22
Dresdner players, with the help of the fans, decided to return and win this game, Pont was on fire, scoring 14 points (perfect shooting) and stealing 4 times, awesome quarter. DJ also led the team with important 10 points and 4 assists, besides 1 block and 1 steal. Porco helped the team with 6 points while Matheus grabbed with 5 rebounds and scored 4 points. Last but not least, Erich sub Marinos well with 4 points, 4 steals and 3 assists.

MOM:Dee Jay (30 points and 13 assists – double-double)!

Special Recognition:

Erich Adam - 12 points, 6 steals, 3 blocks and 6 assists!
Cloud Nine – 23 points, 2 blocks and 1 steals in 15min!

National Team!

I would like to congratulate our players that are on the National Teams, Dee Jay (Brazil), Jansen Wiese (Germany) and Stavros Marinos (Greece) had amazing performances on their last games! Brazil has already qualified for the next round as it is undefeated, we managed to left USA out of the next round!!! DJ was really helpful to Brazil's team with defensive rebounds. Jansen's 10 points and 6 assists almost guaranteed Germany's victory against UK, losing for only 10 points, I'm sure Germany will classify for next round after they face Estonia. Marinos was the star of Greece's National Team, with 22 points, 3 steals and 5 assists in 36 min, almost getting a victory against Chile, they will have a hard time facing Bulgaria next round, but thay still have chances of qualifing...It's a pity that Mexico is not playing, otherwise I'm sure Cloud Nine would make a difference.
